An electric bike like Surge can compare well, performance-wise, with conventional bikes. It can also offer features that would be difficult to replicate in a petroleum vehicle, like a clutchless gearbox, for example. It is less polluting, too. Surge is a cleaner and more energy-efficient alternative to petrol bikes. So maybe the question should be: Why not get one?
Surge can accelerate from 0-60 km/hr in 4 seconds. If you use the Boost feature, you can go faster, for a short while.
Because it's electric. That’s the benefit of an electric drive-train: you get loads of torque at 0 rpm. So you can even get moving in the top gear, if you so wish!
Boost is a feature that will give you that extra surge of power you need to quickly overtake vehicles and get off the line even faster. It’s a bit like adding nitrous oxide to petrol vehicles.
Cruise Control is a feature that will keep you going at a constant speed. This is extremely useful on long stretches of open highway, so that you can rest your arms a bit. Usually, it’s a feature that you only find on high-end cars. That’s why we’re unusual!
The Battery Management System is an advanced unit which manages and protects the battery by making sure that it operates within safe operating areas. It calculates data, generates reports which help in range estimation, diagnosis and maintenance of battery health.
There are two charging options: it can be charged completely from zero to eighty percent in around 30 minutes from our Fast Charge stations, or it can be charged in 3 hour 20 minutes through a standard charge.
You can charge it at home, or you can charge it from one of our various Fast Charge and standard charge locations in and around your city. You can find these charging locations easily through our app. Besides, all company-owned outlets give you 100% renewable power.
Ideally, this shouldn’t happen if you’re paying attention to your battery charge status. However, if you are low on power and need an emergency charge, you can quickly drop by at any of our company-owned or partner Fast Charge outlets. Your battery will be back to full in no time at all, and you can continue on your merry way! The smartphone app will keep you updated on all nearby Fast Charge outlets, and give you directions on how to get there.
Fast charging ability comes standard, but the fast charger does not come included with the bike. You wouldn't be able to use it on a domestic connection as its power drawn will exceed the sanctioned load. Fast charging facility will only be available at a fast charging commercial outlet or charging station.
One home charger is included in the price. It will charge the bike fully in around 3 hours 20 minutes.
The battery is passively cooled and does not get heated up even during long rides. The BMS keeps the battery safe during unsafe temperature ranges.
Battery will reduce to 80% of original capacity after 1200 charge cycles or more. In km terms that will be around 1,20,000 km.
Our emergency toolkit, which we give to all customers, includes a foldable wheeled trolley to carry the battery around. So you no longer have to worry about lugging a heavy battery all over the place.
If we use a single battery, there is no requirement of replacement until it reaches its lifetime. We can expect an improvement in the life of the batteries if we run it in combinations of 2/3 batteries. (i.e) If you run the bike with 2 batteries most of the time, we will get more than 1,20,000km of life from each battery.
No. The battery has triple-redundant battery protection systems, including a dedicated computer within the battery, which protects it from harm.
No. It’s an extremely stable chemistry, used by automobile companies worldwide. It’s also non-toxic. You could take a hammer to it, and it still would be safe.
The bike can withstand a wide range of climatic conditions. The vehicle management system will ensure the vehicle is operating within its limits. Long drives in indian weather conditions will not affect the performance of the bike. The worst thing you can do on a hot sunny day is burnouts, frequent peak acceleration and braking.
The battery is meant to give you optimum performance in all kinds of weather, including rain. It has IP67 protection that will prevent it from getting wet.
This seems like feature-padding! It’s not just gimmick. The computer/smartphone integration allows you to keep an eye on your bike with advanced telemetry, all of the time. It gives you real-time error-reporting, so if something goes wrong, you know exactly what the problem is without needing to open up your bike. In addition, you can easily find charging stations around you through our app.
The bike has space to carry and connect two additional batteries. We have developed an accessory that makes it easier for you to load and unload two extra battery packs into the bike. Thus we can extend range to 300km.
There are 3 drive modes - Power, Range & Balanced. Power output, acceleration, distance covered and throttle response are the chief differences between these modes.
Almost none. It just requires a little cleaning and oiling from time to time.
Mechanical gearbox has very less wear and tear when they are filled with oil. We recommend an oil change every 25,000-30, 000 km. Oil consumption is 250ml.
